MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to share and highlight the stories of prominent powerful brave figures from our past and present that carved out a path for others to follow. We will share this history through literature, music, art, and fashion with the intention to educate and inspire. Learning about the triumphs of your elders and peers can help propel you forward to achieve higher heights.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Trailblazer Project began in 2019, created by Reginald Webb. Initially he wanted to create a comic book based on historical figures that fought and persevered through the unjust racial barriers that once existed in America. Once he began researching and creating the dialog for the comic book, he thought instead of creating a comic book this information may have a major impact on students. So, he decided to change the format and turn this into a children’s book for students ranging from grades 4th, 5th, and 6th. February is nationally recognized as Black history month and during this month it is mostly the same people discussed and celebrated. The goal of The Trailblazer Project was to bring awareness to heroes that are not typically discussed in the classroom. The focus would be on people that were the first to achieve something in a specific field of work or profession.
After the creation of the book an influx of ideas and creativity occurred. A workbook was created with various comprehensive activities for students to complete and demonstrate their understanding of the information in the book. Next, shirts for children were created with images of characters from the book on the front and the names of the characters on the back of the shirt along with their achievements under their names. Fusing fashion and education together in a seamless way.
Music is one of the greatest forms of repetition on the planet. So, with the creation of the book, workbook, and shirts a song about trailblazers would be the icing on the cake. The first Trailblazer song was written by Reggie Webb and produced by LoKey the Chemist. A catchy lyrical educational jingle highlighting and telling the story of each character in the book. In Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, musical learning is listed as one of the eight types of intelligences. It is known as the aural, auditory-musical-rhythmic style of learning. Music is a powerful medium that gives off energy and frequencies that encapsulate time. Some will read the book and retain the information; others will hear the song and retain the information. Either way, the goal is to share the stories of these strong individuals and highlight their greatness and achievements.
The Trailblazer Project will be an ongoing series of books, songs, and videos that will continuously
share stories of triumph. We will share stories of our elders that battled through segregation, black codes, Jim Crow, and other racial barriers. Also, we will share current events of those are currently blazing trails and overcoming social and financial barriers to achieve success.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Reginald S Webb Jr. was born and raised in Baltimore City. He always had a passion for writing and being creative in numerous ways. He graduated from Coppin State University with a B.A. in Journalism and Photography. His journey in writing started with him attempting to mimic the writing styles of his favorite rappers. This eventually pushed him in the direction of creating music and rapping, which led to him signing two record deals. While being signed to his second record contract he became a co-owner and founder of a company called Hip Hop on Phonics. This company created educational Hip Hop and R&B music for children. Eventually the business partners of this company would all take different paths and Reggie decided to carry the torch and keep creating. During this time, he gained custody of his two children and began caring for his daughter who was battling major sickle cell anemia complications. This caused the record label to release him from his contract and, he became a full-time parent and decided to work in the field of education so that, he had the same schedule as his children during the day. Working as a substitute teacher and a part-time BSU advisor for middle school and high school he began to draw inspiration from the lesson plans and daily classroom activities. He noticed a lack of Black history lessons taught, and that is when he produced the idea for The Trailblazer Project. During B.S.U. meetings he would begin to share different stories of prominent figures in history, and he noticed how the students would get excited learning about people that paved the way for us to be here. With his background in music, he decided to combine that with his literary abilities and the Trailblazer book, song, and video was born. Currently, Reggie is back in the studio creating both educational music and his signature boom bap, trap turn up music. He is also working on several literary pieces for his company called, The Learning Webb.
